Supporting Research

  • Type:  Correlation study using linear and multiple regression to determine effect sizes overall and for individual readiness standards.

    Data Sources:  2010 3rd through 8th grade Fall Readiness Screeners and 2010 3rd through 8th grade math MEAP tests.  (Delta Math data included 65,697 students from 265 schools in 29 Michigan counties)

    Findings:  There was a large, positive, significant correlation between success in Delta Math and success on the math MEAP.  (Dr. Vicki-Lynn Holmes, "Using Regional Data to Correlate Program Effectiveness: Delta Math as a case study, 2011.)



Training includes 2 half-day sessions.  School based implementation teams consist of a building admin., designated team leader and up to 4 other leaders that may include math coaches, RtI specialists, regular and special education lead teachers.

Learning Activities:

Each training session integrates whole group and team-based discussions based on short readings and videos.  Online demonstrations and explorations are also utilized.

  • the essential components of math RtI
  • the “what, why and how” of each Delta Math
  • readiness screener and data report
  • the Delta Math Tier 2 Intervention Cycle, Guided Reviews, Quick Checks and Growth Charts
  • where to find current tier 2 intervention lessons and other implementation supports
